Passing through the arched door, you will see three special buildings in the memorial park:
The one on your left-hand side is called National Concert Hall. Many famous musicians and orchestras including Domingo and Pavarotti have held their concerts here.
Another building that is on your right-hand side is our National Theater. It’s a place for performers to act or dance. The most famous dancing group in Taiwan called Cloud Gate Dance Theatre usually take this theater as their first choice when they have a new play to make known to the public.
In the middle of these two buildings is another square where people often skate, dance, fly a kite, play Frisbee or even practice martial arts.
The third building is in the middle of the square. It's a white building with blue roof. If you go up the stairs, you will see a statue sitting there, and he is Chiang Kai-Shek. People in Taiwan set up this building and the statue to show our respect to Mr. Chiang. There are five display rooms inside the building which broadcasting the story and the pictures of Chiang Kai-Shek. But, the display rooms are not open all the time.
